2025 CCICED Annual General Meeting

October 15th - 17th, 2025 Beijing, China

Description

The 2025 CCICED Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place in Beijing, China on October 15-17, 2025. The theme of this year’s edition is Promoting the Green Transformation for Harmony Between People and Nature.

At the AGM, CCICED’s Executive Committee, Chief Advisors, Council Members, and Special Advisors—as well as invited experts and decision-makers from governments, international institutions, businesses, think tanks, and academia—will explore this year’s research reports and policy recommendations to the Chinese Government.

This will be done through a combination of plenary sessions and thematic side events, so-called ‘Open Forums’. The 2025 AGM will also include a session by CCICED’s new High-Level Task Force—chaired by China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, Xie Zhenhua, and UNDP’s former Administrator, Achim Steiner—tasked with reviewing past experiences and assessing trends, risks, and challenges for China’s environment and development efforts.

Following the AGM, CCICED’s annual policy recommendations on environment and development will be finalized and shared with China’s State Council, the country’s highest decision making body.
