The China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) was established in 1992.

Consisting of leading international and Chinese experts and senior officials, CCICED conducts cross-cutting research and provide annual policy recommendations to the Chinese Government on environment and development.

CCICED meets once a year at an annual general meeting (AGM) to consider the reports of “Special Policy Study” (SPS) teams that explore critical environment and development issues. Drawing from the reports, insights from its Chief Advisors, and discussions during the AGM, CCICED approves yearly policy recommendations to the Chinese Government.

Values & Mission

CCICED’s mission is to serve as a platform for cooperation between the Chinese and international research community, drive peer-to-peer exchange across borders, and advance innovative policy solutions for China and the world.
