CCICED Dialogue on Climate and Biodiversity

Zoom

Description

The 14th Five Year Plan adopted by the People’s Congress of China listed advancing harmonious coexistence of humans and nature as one the top priorities for the nation in the next five years.

To achieve this, China needs to take concrete and transformative actions to combat climate change and to protect nature. In this context, CCICED organized a virtual dialogue on March 30, 2021. CCICED Council Members, Advisors, and Experts representing civil society organizations participated in the dialogue and exchanged ideas on issues around carbon neutrality, nature conservation, and aligning the upcoming climate and nature agendas in preparation for Phase VII (2022–2027) of the China Council. H.E. Mr. HUANG Runqiu, CCICED Executive Vice Chairperson, Minister of Ecology and Environment of China chaired the Dialogue.
