In September 2020, CCICED published a Special Policy Study on Global Green Value Chains: Greening China’s “Soft Commodity” Value Chains, which analyzed the environmental impacts of global value chains for timber, soy, beef and palm oil and China’s position in those value chains, and recommended steps China could take to improve the environmental and economic sustainability of those value chains.
On November 5-6, the CCICED will host a virtual inception meeting to discuss the second phase of the soft commodity work and a new exploration of the circular economy aspects of green supply chains, drawing on international company practices and global platforms.
