2025 CCICED Impact Report

The 2025 CCICED Impact Report provides an overview of China’s recent advances in environment, climate, and sustainable development policy. The report discusses CCICED’s recent research and policy recommendations, and connects these to Chinese policy development on green and low-carbon transformation, ecological conservation, environmental governance, pollution control, carbon market construction, and climate resilience—while also noting developments in ecosystem restoration, biodiversity protection, and China’s engagement in regional and global environmental cooperation.

As the country shifts from the 14th to the 15th Five-Year Plan—an important phase for achieving carbon peaking and advancing the vision of a Beautiful China—CCICED’s forward-looking, internationally informed research continues to support evidence-based policymaking. Now in its 18th edition, the report demonstrates how CCICED’s work contributes to China’s ecological civilization, sustainable development, and carbon emission goals.
