The Chinese economy has undergone a phenomenal process of digital transformation over the past decades, which has significantly contributed to China’s economic development and extended its influence beyond the national border. This Special Policy Study Report of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) explores the link between digitalization and sustainability within a clear mission: digitalization as a major transformative force of the 21st century must be put at the service of sustainable development.
Based on theoretical and empirical studies conducted by the project team, comprising Chinese and international members, the report aims to provide policy recommendations on promoting digitalization and green technologies for sustainable development in the Chinese context.
