Mr. Metcalfe is a senior Australian public servant and policymaker currently appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment and Australia’s Director of Biosecurity since February 2020. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He was a Partner at Ernst and Young, Canberra in its Government and Public Sector team from 2014-19.
