Lambertini is the founder and convenor of the Nature Positive Initiative and an International Special Envoy of WWF. Prior to that he was the Director General of WWF International. Lambertini began his association with WWF as a youth volunteer in his native Italy. He has also served as Chief Executive of BirdLife International, overseeing a global partnership of over 120 civil society organizations across the world.
 
Lambertini has a degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Pisa, and has published books including “Safari in Africa” and “A naturalist’s guide to the Tropics”.
