Galit Cohen

Special Advisor Deputy Director General for Policy and Planning, Ministry of Environmental Protection of the State of Israel

Ms. Cohen was senior deputy director- general of Environmental Protection Ministry in the areas of planning, policy, and strategy from 2010 to 2021. she has led a series of policy steps regarding the areas of climate change, environmental innovations, green construction, environmental coordination with the financial sector and in general understandings with the government. 

Since joining the ministry some 20 years ago, she has developed close relationships and partnerships with environmental organizations and played a role in non-governmental activities to improve the quality of life in Israel.  

Ms. Cohen holds a bachelor’s degree in science, a certificate in education, and a master’s degree in social sciences in geography, specializing in environmental planning and policy management Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
