Iskandar Abdullaev

Dr. Iskandar Abdullaev is the CAREC Institute Deputy Director. He holds PhD degree from Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agriculture Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME).  

He has over 25 years of experience in water management, water institutions, environmental activities in Afghanistan and all Central Asian countries. From 1999-2013, he worked for International Water Management Institute (IWMI), German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and Centre for Development studies (ZEF). During 2013-2019, he was the Executive Director of Regional Environmental Center (CAREC) for Central Asia.  

Dr. Abdullaev is a member of International Water Resources Association (IWRA) and editorial boards of several international peer reviewed journals. He has authored three monographic books, over 30 peer reviewed articles and policy papers.
