“From Coal to Roses”

Zichuan District has transformed a resource-depleted industrial area into an integrated “energy + industry” complex by repurposing abandoned mines for solar-powered farming and pumped storage. This replicable green transition model replaces a century of environmental degradation with renewable energy systems and a high-end rose industry.

The project creates a virtuous cycle of emissions reduction and resource utilization by restoring degraded land for productive use. This practice demonstrates how heavy-industrial legacies can be successfully pivoted toward carbon neutrality and long-term local prosperity.
