Climate Adaptation in a Broad Perspective: Long-term impacts on food supply, urban life, river transport, and ecology (Scoping Study)

The Scoping Study on “Climate Adaptation in a Broad Perspective” examines how China can prepare for long-term climate impacts over the next 50 years and beyond. It highlights the growing challenges from extreme weather and other societal, technological, and economic shifts, emphasizing the need for early, strategic action to build resilience.

Focusing on food production and supply, urban life, ecological systems, and waterborne freight transport in deltas, the study identifies key impacts, risks, and knowledge gaps. It lays the groundwork for future in-depth studies that will explore concrete adaptation strategies, resilience solutions, and policy recommendations.
