Governance System for a Harmonious Co-Existence Between Humans and Nature

The special policy study “Governance System for Harmonious Coexistence between Humanity and Nature” under CCICED examines how Nature-based Solutions (NbS) can align human development with ecological protection. Drawing on China’s 天人合一 philosophy, it connects traditional wisdom with modern governance to restore and conserve ecosystems.

The study focuses on implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), advancing the “30×30” target, and integrating biodiversity protection with socio-economic development. It also explores synergies among biodiversity and climate conventions and the sustainable use of biodiversity benefits. Through international collaboration, it provides policy recommendations for both China and the global community.
