Policy Mechanisms toward Environmental Targets for the 12th Five-Year Plan

Pollution reduction will continue to be an important measure as the nation promotes green development and improves environmental quality over the long-run. Based on the success of the “policies and mechanism to achieve the 11th FYP environmental targets” project, CCICED has launched a sequel project for the 12th FYP. This project analyzes the situation today and new problems, and builds a medium-to-long-term roadmap for China’s efforts to further reduce pollution during the 13th FYP and beyond. Policies put forward to achieve the 12th FYP targets include coordinated multi-pollutant emissions reduction, sector-specific and region-specific efforts to protect the environment, and economic restructuring through total emissions control.
