This study examines policies for China to achieve the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework’s (KMGBF) 30×30 targets, synergies between biodiversity and climate goals, and how nature conservation can create socioeconomic benefits. The study explores overlaps between the KMGBF and the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement, or “High Seas Treaty”, which will enter into force in 2026.
